Tiny Speck is a company which started in San Francisco in 2009. The first product of this company was a game called "Glitch". The 2D MMORPG game can be considered a flop and plays no major role in IT history. However there was a part of this game, which roughly can be described as a "chat system". The team continued developing this system, which evolved to be a global communication and collaboration platform. Tiny Speck rebranded and now shares the name of the platform. What is the name of the company or communication platform?

Answer to yesterday's question: Ethernet. IEEE started project 802 in 1980 to standardize LAN, after initial disagreements and parallel development of standards, 802.3 was published in 1983 as draft and as a standard in 1985.

Starting from the first commercial 10BASE5, Ethernet standards have evolved from 10 Mbit/s to 800 Gbit/s, with 1.6 Tbit/s in development. Ethernet divides data streams into frames, which contain source and destination data, and error-checking data - damaged frames can be discarded after detection. Often, higher-layer protocols can then trigger retransmission of failed frames.

In relation to earlier question about Turing Award, Robert Metcalfe, who invented Ethernet at Xerox PARC in 1973, received the Turing Award in 2022 — specifically for the invention, standardization, and commercialization of Ethernet.
