To continue on topic of pivoting companies, what is the name of the company, founded in 1911, which was initially producing recordkeeping and measurement systems? The company was formed by amalgamating four previously existing companies. Initially known as "Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company", the name was changed in 1924, and carries this globally renowned trade name until today. The company is known for inventing the floppy disk and hard drive, when it comes to technical aspects. Intriguingly, the company is also known for inventing financial swaps - first occasion being between the questioned company and World Bank. In addition, they are also behind the "Universal Product Code", more commonly known as the barcode.

Answer to yesterday's question: "Raytheon" is the common word, although the company name has varied slightly over the years and currently is actually "RTX Corporation". So as an answer RTX would also be correct. Etymologically the word "raytheon" is a mix of old languages, meaning "light of gods" or "light from gods".

Nowadays Raytheon is working with various contemporary technologies - satellites, drones, cybersecurity, defense systems, missiles, you name it. Revenue as of 2025 is around $88 billion and net income $6.7 billion dollars, created by a whopping 180 000 employees.
